There is a common misconception that car diagnostic tests is just a vehicle technician using a code-reading tool to determine the exact problem that cause that check engine light. These tools only tell technicians which engine or components are out. It does not identify the cause of the problems. This is where the learning, acquired knowledge and experience of the technician comes into play. Tests can also be carried to confirm that the proposed fix will be the only fix required – and will resolve the vehicles problem.
